This full, comprehensive and interactive course can be taken online or in a classroom at a “Training Provider” near you. This is intended for workers who have restricted and confined spaces at their workplaces. It provides all the information they need to identify and avoid entering a restricted or confined space and how to safely enter and work within these spaces. The course also provides all the information and practical skills needed to perform a vertical or horizontal rescue of a co-worker without entering the confined space.
Course Description
- The trainee should understand the relationship between Legislation, Regulations, Standards, Due Diligence, and Best Practices.
- The trainee should understand the roles and responsibilities of employers and employees and workplace programs as they relate to working in restricted and confined spaces.
- The trainee should be aware of the hazards associated with restricted and confined spaces.
- The trainee should understand how to evaluate and identify proper hazard controls associated with restricted and confined spaces.
- The trainee should understand the safety procedures and equipment required for working in restricted and confined spaces.
- The trainee should understand the requirement for emergency response and the basic elements of an emergency response plan for restricted and confined spaces.
- The trainee should understand the basic concepts, hazards, hazard control processes and safe work procedures associated with a vertical and horizontal non-entry rescue from confined and restricted spaces.
- The trainee should be familiar with the proper procedures, and use of equipment in performing a vertical and horizontal non-entry rescue from a confined and restricted space.
- The trainee should understand the criteria defining a non-entry rescue.
- The trainee should understand the elements of a confined space rescue plan.
- The trainee should be aware of the personnel, tools, and equipment needed to perform a vertical and horizontal non-entry rescue.
- The trainee should understand the actions required to perform a non-entry rescue, without causing further harm to the casualty.
